The first release is titled DESIRE, and the lead cut features beautiful vocals from Bent’s long time singer Katty Heath. Beautiful from the off, a seductive vocal intro is joined by lush piano lines before the beat drops into a delicious down-tempo hip-wiggling head-nodding groove. Like Soul II Soul at their best the sparse soulful arrangement of Desire lets the music and vocals breath between the beats which creates a song that is nothing short of 211 seconds of pure perfection.
Meanwhile, Good Idea is collaboration with fellow Nottingham producers The International Peoples Gang which explores similar percussion & deep bass groove territory, and expands the musical palette as the track is bathed in a sea of lush guitar effects and exotic vocal snippets. Essentially the listener is draped in an elongated tripped out head-nodding musical blanket from start to finish. If you’re a fan of William Orbit’s Strange Cargo sonic extravaganzas this will definitely be up your strasse.
