I have to say that I basically swallowed Ready Fire Aim’s debut album. However, quick and easy digestion is also a warning message that the music may have a very short expiry date. But even after a month spent with the beautiful melodies and perfect songs of ‘This Changes Nothing’ there is still no sign whatsoever of stench.
On the contrary, the 21st century new romantic sound in the form of the massive ‘End of Over‘ and ‘Shouldn’t Oughta‘ is still very touching. The pop rock ‘Wannabe Your‘ and ‘Laff It Up‘ do not cease to carry away and the deepest tune ‘Lush, But Dark‘ continuously take one on a walk in the clouds.
In the studio Ready Fire Aim consists of two people. Sage Rader’s vocals at times resemble Martin Gore, a-ha and even Perry Farrell and they beautifully go together with Stakka’s mixture of refreshed synth pop and Nine Inch Nails like guitars and beats.
