Crazy P is not just a ragbag of people making dance music who decided to start a band to make some money from performing live. Crazy P is a group of full on musicians, whose development is as interesting as the progress of rock or jazz bands. Always true to house, funk and disco, with their three albums to date they have proven their value to the scene. Album no. 4 will make this value even greater.
Crazy P consists of a keyboard player, a guitarist, a bass player, a drummer, a vocalist and their new CD is a tremendously produced piece of sound. The fast tracks make you dance, while the moody ones make you feel emotional. Thanks to their fantastic vocalist and live instruments, there are no signs of heartless electronica and such tracks as ‘Caught Up‘, ‘Give A Little‘, ‘Love On The Line‘ and ‘Over To You‘ can be listened to almost endlessly. Ask my neighbours.
I don’t know if Crazy Penis decided to shorten their name because they wanted to sail onto the wider waters of pop culture. If so, they did well as ‘Stop Space Return‘ can bring them success in the mainstream. I wish them that, because even for a moment, the mainstream would be a better place.
